Getting the Wheeling Fever

I replaced my speed sensor on my 92 pickup. The old one was all worn out. I got this one from a truck at the junk yard. Anyway now that I am getting the speedo to work it is not correct. It reads 10-15 miles behind. I have 31" BFG all ter. tires and my truck is a 2.3. Is there a way to make that correct?

are you talking about the thing with the gear that fits into the trans? supposedly you can change that gear, but to one with different numbers of teeth, but the options are limited and the result will not be spot on in any case.
i don't konw the specific numbers etc. try doing a search and look for the posts on this from JLEMOND. he's replied a number of times on this

You actually the speed sensor is part of the speedo head.
I can't tell what you replaced, but it sounds like you replaced the speedo gear. Did the replacement have the same number of teeth? If not, then that is your problem.
You also need to figure out why the old one disintegrated. They usually don't just do that.

Yeah it was the gear that is in the trans and as far as i know it was the same one. I would have to pull it out and check it. It didn't just fall apart. the old was wore out. the teeth were all down and it would't catch.
