Getting the Wheeling Fever
Hello all;
I need guidance on my set-up. IÆm thinking about adding a 2.5ö suspension lift, a 1ö body lift, and 33 x 11ö tires on my rig. All else is still stock.
What pinion changes should I use to help ensure my road manners and mileage are not adversely effected. What components should I ensure are included in the lifts to keep the geometry in alignment (ie tire spacers, Pitman Arms, transmission lowering kits, etc)? I use this rig as a daily commuter, and rarely tackle anything harder than snow covered trails and dirt roads.

For the type of driving you're proposing, I'd suggest ring and pinion sets of 4.10:1 for your axles.

Auto or stick? If stick then you may have to get an adjuster bracket of some sort 'cause a body lift can make the shifter bind.

A 1" BL prolly won't causea shifter problem. You will eventually want to regear as BR said, but it doesn't have to be right now. The 2.5" lift most likely won't cause drivetrain angle problems, but I have heard of it happening - once. In which case a SYE and CV drive shaft will set you up.

Thank you all for your help. One last question, would it be easier to just go with a 3.5" lift? I was expecting a lot of geometry issues, but you all seem to discount them pretty quickly.

You might possibly get a little driveline vibration, but the main thing you would need to worry about in getting a 3.5" lift is getting a dropped pitman arm. I personally would go with just the suspension lift.
