Getting the Wheeling Fever
I have a 97 grand cherokee, 4.0L, 180,000 KM's. The jeep has been bogging at idle but stays running. What I mean by bogging is the RPM's will drop close to stalling, but it won't stall. It has been getting worse. Before it only did it once a week now its about twice a day. I gave it a tune-up but the problem persists. Could it be the distributor? no check engine light, any suggestions would be great.

Body Damage is Cool
My wife's Mazda Protege was doing the same thing. Cleaning out the intake system fixed the problem. You probably want to clean out the fuel system too as BJ suggested...run some injector cleaner through the gas tank, and clean the TB.

Gun it and run it!
