Since I bought a 4 banger for my daily driver, my T100 is only used for what it does best (which is everything but commuting). During the off months, it may sit for up to a month w/o getting used. Other than a bi-weekly start and an occasional roll of the tires, what do I need to do to the fluids especially oil as far as service. I've heard that letting engine oil sit (I'm using Mobile synthetic) can build up water from condensation or something to that effect. Whatever it is, what would you do for your truck when it sits for a while?

The biggest thing would be the gas. Condensation will form in the gas tank, especially if it isn't full. That can create some gunk or possibly rust in there and poor running. I would keep the tank full and then when you do run it, try to go through that tank so you can replace it with fresh gas for the next long sit. I don't know how well that gas stabilizer works. I have heard good and bad rumors. Shouldn't be much condensation in the engine and what is there will be purged once you run it for a while. I do about the same as you. Run the commuter special all week but take the T out on weekends, if only to the dump.

Pri-g gas stabilizer works. I have had gas with stabil that turned into varnish in 6 months. I have gas thats been sitting for 5 years now..no issues..

I have to ask, what do you have 5 year old gas for????? the only thing I have that will sit with gas in it is my toyhauler generator, and Stabil works fine in it.

Oh I usually store some gas incase of emergencies and such. Its for my genny, the lawnmowers, my ATV, etc. Its not that much, like 4 jerry cans full or so. I found that stabil doesnt work to well unless you add copious amounts of it.

Never used all that Y2K fuel you stashed away? How much stabil, twice as much as the directions indicate, or more?

FWIW I try to drive mine for an hour every week. I try and fit some errands in with taking the trash out so that I can get the motor nice and hot.

2x as much stabil, I found it never lasted otherwise. Y2k is done and over with, now its SHTF...as in poo hittin the fan..
