Changing plugs? #845226 11/04/07 05:12 AM

Need a Spot
I intend to change the plugs on my 99 Tracker. It seems that there are 4 coil packs, one for each plug. It is my understanding that the plugs are in the motor and that the valve cover will need to be removed to replace the plugs. In removing one coil pack, I noticed that there appears to be a spring in the orifice. So, do I need to remove the coil packs, or can I just remove the valve cover and lift the coil packs all at once? Secondly, if I do remove the coil packs, do I need to be careful not to lose these springs? Is there anything else besides the springs that may be lost? Any help is greatly appreciated.

OK,
I see that the plugs are not "inside" the engine, but that they go through the top of the valve cover. Plugs are changed, now to find affordable plug wires. Most auto parts dealers don't even have a listing and the dealer will have them priced like gold.
