OK as the runner is now trail only, and will be drivable again as soon as I get my new groovy 4 wheel innovations cage installed, I am looking for a way to do dual cases. I have no money. So I was thinking, sell my diffs, get two stockers (actually one as I have one already), weld the rear one, put a lunchbox in the front, and use the funds from the diff sale to buy an adapter and a second case. Whatcha think? Having 4:10s would be no biggie with dual cases, and since it's not driven all the time on the road....

Stock gears in the diffs means the t-cases have to work harder because all the gear reduction occurs there so you'll have more chance of breaking stuff in the t-case(s). Namely- input and output shafts.

Dual cases don't have to cost that much. Adapters are down to about $300 (or hold out for a used one?). A donor t-case is maybe $100 if you can't find a friend-deal. Driveshafts could be cheap/free if you do your own, or you could pay for a rear and build the front.

Just my opinion, but I would keep the built diffs. Its worth it to have both.

An excellent point, but as I said, I have no $$. So then no cases.

What diffs do you have? I have a couple extra 4.11 stockers and extra top shift t-case.

I agree w/ Erik. Keep the gears and hold off on the duals until you have $$. By selling/buying you're really just moving your "need" somewhere else and will eventually have to/want to spend that money anyway.
