Well I ordered a set of 4 re-treaded tires last week, and they arrived today. 30x9.50x15. The carcasses they used were bfgoodrich all terrains with the triple sidewall protection. (although it varies on what brand they use.) the tires look pretty good, and it should be interesting to try them out. They are not the hardcore mud tire I was after, but they didn't offer it in that size. https://treadwright.com/Tires-30x9_50R15_MUD-P10.aspx$280 shipped to my door for 4 tires. I will be getting them mounted up later today, but I am not going to run them until I finish the front end stuff (new ball joints, tie rods, and alignment.) I will update this at a later time on how I like or dis-like them. If anyone else wants to add any experiences with them, feel free! I would be interested to hear about them.

All I can say is be careful especially on the street, my friend had re-treads on the rear of his F-250 and had one blow out on him going down a mountain, it slammed him into the mountain and he rolled it about 3 times and he was doing the speed limit which is 45mph.
I had your "Jeep Thing" now it burns when I pee

I did some research before buying them, they are supposed to be just as good as new tires, and just as safe. but we now how that "supposed to be" thing goes. I think the lighter weight of the kia will be a benefit to this idea. but they are warrantied for 2 years or 24,000 miles.
I guess I will find out first hand!
I hope your friend didn't get to banged up, sounds like a rough ride though!

There's a guy on this board that used them a couple times and I think he liked them. I may go that route for the tires for my wifes blazer.

TOOO many people in Greece use re-treat tyres.... exept they are heavier than normal and more difficult to balance no other problems...

Hi-Tech retreading makes a great set of 35x12.5-15's for $112 each shipped. good tires, very good tread wear and pretty grippy, too. but- no side lugs. oh, and easy to balance, they have to be able to be balanced over here or they wouldn't pass DOT.

I was bored while waiting for the other 2 tires , 2 came at 9:30am and the other 2 showed up at 5pm, thanks fedex! so I remembered my dad showing me how to mount up tires without a machine, so I gave it a shot, and sure as .... it took about 3 minutes per tire, so I saved some cash there, and I had 4 valve stems from a wheel lock kit I bought (not sure why they would throw in valves stems!) and I have a compressor, so All I needed done was balancing. They didnt' need much weight, I know this because I watched the guy balance them up.
I htought the 33's and under were street safe on the highway, but anything bigger was for off-road only? Thats what it says on their site anyway

disclaimers like that are just "cover-your-a$$" statements so they can try to escape accountability for defective equipment. every company in the world has something, some have grimoires..

I had/have a set of 33"s from when they were called HiTech Retread. Still got them, work great. Equal to old BFG MT's in the goo. And cheap. For the money, well worth it.
Several fellow Zookers in the New England region all bought them. Many used them as daily drivers, and they hold up no problem. I've had mine up to 80, but my 9" lifted Sammy scared me more than the tires.
You'll be happy.
