Getting the Wheeling Fever
When I got my truck it had to tach. So I went and bought and after market one. I have it installed now and it is working great. The only thing I dont know and I couldn't find it on here or in my haynes manual is what is the red line on my truck. The tach has a place to mark it. I have 1992 2.3 2wd pickup.
If anyone knows it would be great.

My 1990 2.6 redlines at 6000. Power really drops off anywhere over 5000 though.

I dont like plan to race or anything just want to know it so I can mark it on the tach. I wonder if the 2.3 and 2.6 have a diff red line.

Since they're the same engine family, I don't think so.

Set it for 5500. You can't hurt the engine and there is nothing usful above that anyway.

I usually dont go above about 3000 or 3500. My truck has no pull at any rpm.

3000-4000 for shifting under normal driving.
