Make sure you waterproof that new one good before you put it in. I've heard of people putting them in plastic bags. Or use some sillicone

I mentioned it too <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Dielectric grease is good on any electrical connection. It repels water and keeps out moisture.

Do NOT use Noalox. It is CONDUCTIVE. Dielectric grease is NON conductive. Big difference. You will short out your ECU.

Try the plastic bag method I suggested as well.

Well, that's good to know. I knew that noalox was conductive, but I didn't think about how that would function in this situation. I just use it all the time around my house.
So, since the dielectric grease is non-conductive, it won't interfere with continuity? I was thinking of applying directly to the terminals.....not just "around" them. How should it be applied?

Yea, its non-conductive.

Just apply it everywhere and anywhere. All in and over the terminals.

Use silicone to seal up the case.
