Getting the Wheeling Fever
Looking for some one who has done the intake manifold mod on the 22RE, using one from a late model to put on a 85 truck.
Have a couple of questions and would like some pics.
Thanks.

I did mine.... I followed the guidance here

biggest improvement was engine warm up... before the swap the engine wouldn't cold idle (fast)... throttle response is better too...

here's a couple of pics...

Thanks for the pics and the info.
Question, where did you get all of the silicone hoses for your setup? Especially for the one off the front valve cover, and how did you make your air tube?

I got the silicone hose kit from Summit Racing. The one on the front is actually one of the 10mm hoses just stretched a bit... <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> It takes just a bit more than what is provided in one kit, especially if you have cruise control.

The intake tube was cobbled together by using some mandrel bent 2 1/2" stainless and some turbo interconnect hoses... it works and seems to be less restrictive than the OEM plastic, less prone to cracking too...
