Getting the Wheeling Fever
Well it turns out my new truck didn't have just a timing chaing noise it also needs a new engine due to a rod knock. So I priced out an engine through my work and foriegn engines will sell me a long block with all new parts and a three year warranty for $1300 dollars it includes all gaskets to install. I was just wondering if that is a good deal or if you guys know of a better source? I'm going to wait untill mine blows up so hopefully that will be when I get my tax return.

Thanks,
Brian

That's about the going rate, but that's also assuming your core exchange is rebuildable.

I've dealt with John's Foreign Engines, aka 22r.biz,22re.biz ad nausem. The guy is a frigging jerk. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/butwiggle.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/butwiggle.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/butwiggle.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/nana.gif" alt="" />

I've done business with Sunwest Automotive out of Medical Lake, WA.(Spokane) Mike's a good guy. Google; he's got a toll free number.

Your other bet is www.engnbldr.com, but Ted just posted that Tod got a very nasty box knife injury, so that might slow him down if he doesn't already have some ready on the floor.

Need a Spot
Gotta throw my hat in for Sunwest also. They were great to do business with. I've never heard a bad thing about EB either...

I got mine out of Oregon Engine Rebuilders in Sandy, OR. Never had a problem and the guys really seem to know what they're doing.

Well I live in WA so I think I will give sunwest a call. I'm hoping this engine will last until income tax time.
