Getting the Wheeling Fever
Just noticed a slight surge in my idle. Was never there before. You can see it on the tach needle when you look closely. Anyway, I've always thought that a vacuum leak would be the problem, but couldnt locate any. I went over those vacuum hoses repeatedly and still nothing. No loss in engine performance when driving either. The engine is a 22RE rebuild with about 20K on it. I also checked for codes, and it isnt throwing any. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Make sure your coolant is topped off for starters, as the RE's seems to be rather persnickety about that. I believe it messes with the temp sensor.

Also, check the Throttle Position Sensor Idle adjustment, if that is off, the idle can be unstable (and that will usually not set off an check engine light code):

My 22re did the same thing. He's right about the coolant. Make sure you have all the air out of the system by raising the front end up with the engine warmed up. Also have the heat going so that there's no air bubbles in the heater core too.

Checked the coolant level, and it's full. I think I'll do the burp test anyway to see if it does anything. Next I'll check the TPS once I figure that test out. Haven't used my multimeter in a while. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" /> Thanks for all the tips so far.
