Need a Spot
I have a 93 YJ Sahara 4.0.

There is a JVC stereo/cd player in my dash. One of the wires say's 12vdc on it and goes directly to the battery. But the unit only works with the ignition turned on. Is there a change I can make so the stereo works without the ignition being on? I want to listen to my XM radio while outside the Jeep.

Thanks.

There will be a wire marked switched 12 Volt + or something of the sort. If you wire this switched 12V and the constant 12 Volt + directly to the battery your stereo will work all the time. Just don't forget to turn your stereo off.

Body Damage is Cool
The switched 12V is usually blue on aftermarket head units.

There might be a sticker on the bottom of your stereo that lists the color code for the wires.
