First let me apologize for this post. I hate "What's it worth?" threads, but I need some input from those who have been shopping lately.

I've got someone who is interested in buying the topper for my T100. It's been off the truck since I purchased the FWC and I don't see using it again so I'm willing to let it go. Toppers for the oddball T100 are hard to come by but I know something is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it.

It's a Raider brand with a driver's side 'windoor', a sliding front window and anchor pads for a Thule or Yakima rack. Most fiberglass toppers are retailing new for $1200-$1500. This one is close to 10 years old but in great shape.

I don't want to scare the guy off by asking too much. As hard as a T100 topper is to come by, so is finding a potential buyer for said topper. So I'm thinking $500-ish....?

Usually I would check CL and eBay for a price comparison but there don't seem to be enough available to get a decent price check.

Thoughts, opinions, suggestions?

Body Damage is Cool
Stuff that old, even when it's in good shape, I usually start it at half what I paid with OBO from there. I'm not sure if I end up robbing myself that way, but no one ever seems to come out feeling taken advantage of, so....

I agree that $500 seems about right. If it the right color, maybe you could as a little more. If it is the wrong color for the guy, maybe $450 would sound better. Even at $500 its cheaper than paying over 1k for a new one.

The same size fits the first gen Tundras so it is not that uncommon. That also gives you a larger market for it. I paid $175 about 2 years ago for a really nice used aluminum one. The units like yours were going anywhere from $400-600 when I was looking.

I bought a fiberglass topper about 3 years back and only paid $150 for it. It was in great condition, has front and side sliders with screens, etc. He was glad to get rid of it.

However, I would have been happy to pay $300-400 for it, and I think that's a fair price for the hard-to-find T100 toppers.

Dodge dakota, 1st gen tundra also fit.. I see most caps (fullsize or shortbox and compacts0 go for about 250-600 or so depending on the kind and shape of it.

I sold one about 6 months ago that was on a T100 that I bought. The guy I bought the truck from said it cost him $1200.00 new. The topper was about 4 years old when I sold it. I put it on ebay and had 2 people interested in it the first guy wanted to know if I would deliver it to him (500 mi one way) and the other guy lived in Canada. My topper was Red and sitting in my Driveway. At the end the guy in Canada won the auction (125.00) and drove all the way to Cincinnati in his Black T100 to pick it up. So I guess if you want it gone fast you will have to give it away but if you are not in a hurry you might get $500.00
