Need a Spot
I have a 1990 Stock Wrangler I'm not sure what axles that means but I am looking to put on possibly a 4" suspension lift and a 3" body and maybe some 33 swampers, are my axles going to be able to handle this or should I upgrade, does this mean getting all new axles or just different gears thanks

What type of wheeling do you plan on doing? I noticed that you are wanting to put in a 350 as well. You will definitely want some gears with those 33's. Why the 3" body lift? You should only need a 1" body lift to fit those 33's pretty well. A 3" BL sounds a little top heavy to me.

My opinion would be to get a Rubicon Express 4.5" lift with a 1" BL.

With that lift though you will need a slip yoke eliminator kit if you are going to be doing any wheeling.

Im not looking to do any intense wheeling just prolly like wood trails and stuff, the 350 is all just thinking haha maybe later I was just wondering if a stock 6 cyl would be able to turn the 33s easily enough for a daily driver or if things will start to wear out, axles, gears etc?

If you have a 90 model 6 cyl, it most likely came with a 3:07 gear in it. Putting 33's on there will cause a huge loss of horse power. Lots of trouble getting her off the line and never to see high gear again..
A 4:11 gear would be really nice in that ride. Lots of HP off the line and good usable high gear on the hiway.

Getting the Wheeling Fever
personally i would recommend swapping a ford exploder 8.8" rear with disc brakes. pretty sweet swap. The reason is, i can put a axle kit in a d30 and it will probably hold, a d35 in my eyes is junk so why spend the money on gears before u get a good axle in there..

Going to 4.10 gears will help get back the power and torque you'd lose with the 33" tires.

BTW, you don't need 7" of lift to clear 33" tires. With that much lift, you could run 35" tires, but you'd then need 4.56 gears. But I don't think I'd run 35" tires on a Dana 35 axle. Ford 8.8 would be nice, but it's a little narrow. You could solve that robem with either wheel spacers or with custom offset wheels.

BJ is right about the gears, but it's not a "huge" loss of power. I ran mine like that for a couple of years while I saved up for a better axle and new gears. He's right about never using 5th gear though. If it's an auto tranny the torque converter will mask the effect a bit. 7" lift? Don't need to go near that much.

what about just doing a 4" suspension and puttin on 31" or 32" tires I'm just looking for something to run for a while while I save, that wont be a dog as a daily but I can still do some light offroading, would this work?

I'm not a big TJ guy, but I seem to remember that a buddy of mine fit 31" tires on his with just a set of 2" coil spacers.

you can fit 33's with a 4 inch lift, if you dont do any highway driving 3.07s will be just fine with 33's, i have 3.07s and i get better gas millage then people with 3.73 or 4.10 with 33's, i have plenty of enough power, and i have cruised at 65mph without a problem
