I want to make something for my montero in my shop class but need ideas. I want to make a baja/prerunner brushguard but don't know how it would look because I plan to keep my stock bumper not replace it. This is the look I'm going for CLICK HERE Any input/opinions? Anyone made anything like it? I'm still trying to envision how I would mount it/set it up.

Also any other ideas of projects i could make for my rig? I'm looking for something relatively easy/simple. I've already made a tow hitch.

Thanks
-Colin

Need a Spot
i built one for my 91 four door after the original front bumper was smashed by a tree looks way better than stock in my opinion just used a 2x2 square piece for the main bar and used 11/4" 16gauge electrical conduit pipe for the hoops the pipe bends easy in a bench or hydralic bender with out kinks used the same pipe to make a roof rack similar to the one on the new toyota fj cruiser looks bad ass i will get some pics for u wednessday and put them up here

Well it depends on what you like style wise, and what you are planning to do with the truck. If you like brush guards etc, make some wrap around tail light guards, and some headlight screens. If you plan on doing any rock crawling make up some sliders. If you ever plan on putting lights up top make a light bar or a roof rack. And if your going to use the roof rack you could design a ladder that goes up the back door (like Angelo's truck and many of the old vans). What about your spare tire carrier? Do you want to add jerry can holders? Or maybe modify it so it could hold a larger spare tire? Etc etc. There are a lot of options.

With all this project talking my imagination runs wild, I got to get me a welder and then learns how to use it

It can be that difficult, right? its just a matter of practice, right?

Wow, I want to built a roof rack, gas tank protection, rock sliders, skid plates, bumpers, a trailer etc...

thanks, I was thinking about taillight guards and am already making some headlight screens. Don't want anything on the roof.
As for style if I make a burshguard it will be that baja/prerunner style (like in the link), love the look of those trophy trucks. Not really into rock crawling, I have the most fun on forest roads/mud/smooth trail(anywhere I can run WOT, haha).

Also please post pics of anything you've made!
