Hey everyone,
I just purchased a full size Dodge van Con Ferr rack off of Craigslist for $80 and was wanting to cut it down and reweld to size for my two door. Does anyone have the dimensions for the ideal rack size. I would love to see any pics of peoples racks, especially those with accessories like Hi-lift mounts, shovels, gas and water cans, etc. Thanks!

This is my restored Confer, it's 5 feet long. I would go as long as possible that way it can double as a roof bed! ![[Linked Image]](http://www.users.qwest.net/~sginc6/roofrack2.jpg)

Yakima megawarrior with extension on Thule load bars. I could probably get another extension in there to go all the way across. ![[Linked Image]](http://i225.photobucket.com/albums/dd196/jsmiddleton/PB170010a.jpg)

This is my custom hack. Wasn't happy with anything I found available <in terms of wind noise>, so I welded this up from scratch using old school yakima mounts. The McNichols bar grating along the sides works well for lashing about any tool imaginable. ![[Linked Image]](http://franklynb.home.mindspring.com/monty/wheels3.JPG)

That is amazing. I see that 4x5 feet is a possible size. Do you think a resize to 6 or 7 feet would work with only 3 Con Ferr mounts (same as yours)? Or would I need to go get another set and have four? Either which way, your rig looks great! Also, you've gotta give me some tips on how you mounted your gas can on the back. That is pretty sharp! Did you weld that yourself? Thanks for all of the advice. It is much appreciated.

Nice Monty! I love the rear bumper as well. Did you have that fabricated or was it an aftermarket part? <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

This has to be one of the best Mitsu's on the site. I love what you have done. I have seen your cardomain site. You have put some serious work into that thing. I see you are in Ensenada. I have been down there as well...Mexico has some great off roading. Any favorite trails? If you are ever in LA, let me know and I'll show you some local highlights around here. Thanks for the info.

Thanks RotLA. Aftermarket from Sterling Equipment. Got'em before I found this forum; otherwise I would have gone with ARB front, RB sliders, and fabbed a new one of these. Sorry, enuf hijack, back to racks.
