Has anyone had a problem with their transfer case in 4 wheel high? everytime i put it in it stayin in moving for about 20 to 30 seconds then pops the actual knob into the neutral postions in between 4 hi and 4 low. Low works still but high just disengages. Any clues? would i be better off rebuilding the transfer case or just replacing it.

Body Damage is Cool
I've heard of and experienced it popping out of 4 low due to interference from the body after a body lift. I could shift into low but with the slight movement of the body over the frame the body would come into contact with the transfer case shift lever and knock it out of gear. If you haven't checked that you may want to. Pull up the shift boot and take a look.

Any time I see that someone has a body lift I tell them to recheck their mount bolts. So take that for what its worth. I had a bad time with them.

Have you always been in MA? I don't remember seeing you as a fellow zu member of the communistwealth before.

when looking for a container to hold drained brake fluid, find a container that is different from the beverage you are currently consuming.

I had the same problem with my wife's 2000 Amigo when we first got it. For me, the fix was to match tires exactly, (I had replaced the front set with new - same size, same brand etc..) the difference between the new & used would make enough of a bind that the transfercase would pop out of gear & into neutral.. In my case I had to replace the back set too so they were all exactly the same size & it fixed it. I could have probably put one new in front & one new in back & let the spiders take up the difference so the transfercase wouldn't have to & it probbaly would have worked too but I chose to just have all new..
