Getting the Wheeling Fever
Update - It drives! Drove it in to have the exhaust put on today, I now have it at work. Still many little details to take care of, but all the big pieces are done. The only unusual thing of note so far is the Aisin AT is 'odd' compared to what I'm used to. It behaves as if it has a high stall torque converter. It's not an issue, but weird to me having only really known old American V8 transmissions in the past. Basically, in the right light throttle conditions it seems like it's slipping, but I think that's just how the thing works. When I use the electronic lockup, the slip goes away. It'll take a little adjusting to get used to the manual automatic, but no worries.

Thanks to everyone for the help and suggestions.

Paul

Getting the Wheeling Fever
Hey Paul-

Been away for a while.... Glad to see you got it going!

The glow plugs are 12v. I've had mine disabled all summer, and even now it starts right up without them. It's almost time to hook them back up as the blue smoke is getting a bit much with these cool morinings. It starts the same with or without them, just hardley smokes at all with them on when it's cold.

Mine just keeps plugging away. I'm still getting a consistant 30 mpg, when I can keep my foot out of it <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> The more I tweak the pump, the harder that is to do. Let me know if you want any tips on that.
