When pulling my front wheels side to side, the relay rod rotates somewhat, making the tie rods go up and down and thus change the toe in.
When looking at the service manual, it seems that the joint between relay rod and idler arm is not a ball joint, but a cylinder. So I'm think this should prevent the relay rod from rotating. Not sure about the pitman arm joint, but it seems that is a real ball joint.

Can anybody confirm that the idler arm to relay rod joint should only rotate and not go back and forth?

I know the idler arm bushing gives some play as well, but if the joint is bad too, I need to buy a whole new arm/assembly instead of just replacing the bushings.
