Thanks to Don M for his idea. i never got a chance to look at his pics so i improvised.
First Nate needed to cut a 3/8 plate to match the Baters hitch.

Once that was cut with the plasma cutter, he used the Baters factory tow thing to line up the holes. These were cut on the drill press.

Next was cutting the Receiver stock to the right size.

i thought it would be a good idea to cut an opening to match the receiver in the plate. He than welded on both sides for max strength.

He than further reinforced it by welding a brace into the bottom of the receiver stock.

Painted it, bolted it back in

Put the bike hauler on and voila!

i'll get a price (including receiver stock)

PM me if interested.

That is just like mine, but I added angle iron on the sides with holes in them for the safety chains. Looks good. Did you try it with the bike on yet?

I like that, Tom! How much does your bike weigh? Are you towing a trailer behind the carrier?

Doug,
i will find out for you.

Don,
i need to put my bike together first.

Phil,
bike weighs under 300. The carrier weighs 43. i will not have a trailer behind. The company does make carriers for dual sports.
i can show you a pic of a carrier Nate built me so i could tow behind:

looks like it worked out great. Congrats. And I love that view as well. It is a great part of Canada that we live in. Are you going to add some chain tie downs so you can pull a trailer?
