With all the helpful part numbers on here,,I thought for sure that the "elusive" starter solenoid rebuild kit part number would be in here. Just had a long talk with my parts dealer, and he swears that one has never existed !!!
I sure hope someone can help me educate him a little.(Plllease !!!) <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/scared.gif" alt="" />

Well, now I know a little more!! Got the part numbers for the contacts,,,but evidently the plunger ring is not availible or serviceable (yet !!! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/nana.gif" alt="" />)

I found you can usually just clean up the ring on the plunger. I used some sandpaper on mine as I recall:

Otherwise, you might check out a starter repair shop for the plunger. They are available, perhaps not from the dealer, though.

I bought 4crawlers deal after cleaning up the contacts once. They are typically what wears on the starter.

I orginally went to replace the solenoid, but most parts stores were charging more for the solenoid than they were the entire starter assembly.
