hey all
this morning my 85 4x4 22re would not start, I have power at the left side fuse pannel but i am not getting any power in side to the driver fuse pannel, I have nothing, no lights,radio,blower nothing. were does the power come in from the engine compartment. and ideas would really help. later.

Start with the fusible link at your battery. Those like to rot when these trucks get to that age.

i was having issues as to where my truck would randomly die, and nothing would work. it was because the link was pulling off of the connector on the battery. it litteraly supplies power to everything except the main cable to the starter.

I have power to the engine fuses next to the batery, were is the fuseable link located? thanks for the help

It's the big 80 amp "fuse" in the box by the battery.

You gotta unbolt the box and unscrew the fusible link from the bottom.

I was messing around with truck and low and behold the starter body has battey voltage, think that is a good place to start and is so shorted out that it is backfeeding through the ignition wire and whono were else. got to go get a starter and will get back to you all later.

turns out there is power everway, anough to light a test light, I can power the test l;ight from the bumper smile but anyway I just had a loose ground on the frame causeing all that trouble. smile lessons leared
