Need a Spot
1988 trooper 4 cyl i-tech 2600 [i think] the egr tube that runs from the ex. manifold to the back of the in. manifold . mine is loose on both ends even though the nuts are tight. it feels like there is some blow by on the ex. side. what type of fitting should be on the ends and could this be the reason for failed emission test here in ga. excessive nox.

there will always be a muddy spot in my driveway

For an '88, I'd say you can justify putting a new tube in it. Take your existing one off to check it out first; but I wouldn't be surprised if the exhaust end is deteriorated and allowing it to leak. St Charles will get you a good price: 1-800-727-8066

Getting the Wheeling Fever
I had to replace mine when I couldn't get it off to install a new header. The end on the exhaust side I believe was flared and the bolt into the manifold just screws on. I think the EGR side is the same. PITA to get it around the block and mounted correctly. I ended up not using the bracket that bolt to the transmission.
