I know that there has been stuff on installing 4.3 in a Gen 1, But i'm a retard and can't find it. I am looking for info about mounting it in, brackets and the oil pan clearance. I have the 4 door troop transport model. Also if there is anything I should watch out for (heater core lines, etc). I understand that this is a project, not a weekend job. I am planning on using a 700r4 (non computer).

Neat, I wish I could switch to something , like a diesel or I didn't say this here, a Toyo 3.4 supercharged. But that anothe pipe dream.

I have never been able to get anything from the archive system here. I'm no geek , you must have to be a very special kind of geek , too.

Put quotes around 4.3 like this... "4.3"
Then make sure you select both the Tech and Archive forums.
Then make sure you change the date range to maybe 2+ years

That should bring up lots of posts talking about it.

Also search My username, LeeRaider, BigBlue, Don. We've all done 4.3 swaps, and I think a few more, but those are the ones I remember right now.

I am also thinking about doing this. Once it warms back up around here next this spring.

Not scared its halfway apart in the garage right now. Its a little cold. Not Socal hippie land here sorry. And its about 30 degrees once the weather gets back to normal. Learning process. And have you looked at a breakdown of an RD05? Lots of little parts. And getting parts from the west coast takes a while around the holidays. Ordered them a weekand a half ago just got them so :*****:
