That's pretty sweet. I'd bet the bird-strike-induced-pucker-factor is huge.
Reminds me of a Marine Colonel I once knew. When he was a young A-4 pilot, he got in trouble because he had a pretty bad bird-strike on his aircraft. The investigation board was pretty sure he was screwin' around at high speed and low altitude, but they couldn't prove it. He stuck to his guns that he was above 15000 feet. He even dug up evidence that bird-strikes had been documented at 17000 feet. They let him off the hook.
Years later, over a beer, he told me he was, in fact, a bit out of regs on that flight. He was doing 500 knots at about 50 feet over the desert.

They're dayem lucky they didn't suck any gulls. That would've been plain ugly, like the Ramstein Air Show with the Italians.
Was at an air show in Cleveland several years ago; the T'birds were there; still had T38's. One crashed as they were leaving; sucked a bunch of gulls. Same year, the team followed the lead into the ground during a practice sortie.
That's why the Tbirds are in F16's.

Kool In 2006 I was stuck in traffic on the Golden Gate bridge when they were practicing. Friday after noon on a long weekend. The only time I did not get upset.

For years we would take the boat up and anchor off Alcatraz and watch the Angels. It was great airshow and fish at the same time.the only bad part would be the wind and waves that always showed up for the 20 mile ride home.oh what memories Russ

During Tiger Cruises on the Ike (CVN-69) the F14 pilots would perform supersonic passes just above flight deck level (off the port side of the ship). Now that was cool! The sad thing about that is I'm no longer impressed during fleet week.

We were spending a short week at Gulf Shores, AL last spring, and the six of us were all down on the beach when the SE contingent of Blue Angels out of P'cola NAS started practicing right there in front of us. Practice is better than the real show. Goes on longer.
When I was still a kid, sonic booms used to be fairly common. Never will forget the time 4 F105's came over the same beach off the Gulf at about 10k' in line formation. 4 sonic booms a quarter second apart. BAM BAM BAM BAM. My old man came out of the cabin looking for the naval cruiser firing it's main battery. Didn't believe me that it was planes until he talked to the old dude at the bait shack the next day.
The last sonic booms I heard was the double whammy from the Shuttle landing at the Cape when John Glenn rode her. BAM BAM you felt as much as you heard.

I don't believe this video. No way would a pilot make a pass like that with all those boats so close, let alone a military pilot!
It DOES look very cool however......
