I was changing out my leaky valve cover gasket today and I noticed my lower radiator hose was flat. I recently changed all my hoses so it is new. When I opened my radiator cap there was a vacuum and the hose opened up. Bad Cap?? Bad t-stat??

YES a bad cap! The cap is supposed to open and allow coolant from the resevour to enter instead of collapsing the lower hose.. BTW that lower hose is supposed to have a SPRING looking wire in it to KEEP the hose from flattening under vacume. Big JIm <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/pfft.gif" alt="" />
