Need a Spot
HiAll

My rear window wiper has failed and was wodering what the commonest causes might be?

I doesn't get used alot but the Mrs used it the other day and it rained.

The blade arm stalled whilst on the window and would not budge.

I have removed it so that the tail gate can open and close.

With a little persuasion the arm wold move abit but when trying again it would stall back on the window.

Would the fault be in the motor or switching?

Thanks

Its most likely the relay. You can buy a new relay box for about $200 from isuzu or if you can solder or arent affraid to learn you can buy some relays from Mouser for about $5. They dont carry the oem fujitsu relays anymore and last I checked they were out of the NEC 31000s relays but others have used NEC 22111s relays with no problem.

Here is a write up I did on replacing mine..

thanks for the info

I should be able to achieve what isreq'd only prob is that I cannot locate the relay board as it may be in a different location as I have a right hand drive.
also which bits of the dash need to be removed to gain access.

thanks

It might be to the left of the glove compartment on yours. I just emptied all my junk out, squeezed the sides of it so it would open all the way, and was able to get to my relay board that way.

Hi Gizzy

I finally had some time today to have a look for the wiper relay unit.
The only units that I could find were 2 units one marked Honda key alarm or somthing similar held in by 2 screws and the other held in by 1 screw and a clip which I thought was an abs alarm. They were right in under the dash under the vent flush with the door.

Can you confirm if either of these were what i was looking for.

Regards

Sorry I hadnt replied, havent checked this board in a while.

In mine one was labled "anti theft and keyless entry" and the other was labled "alarm and relay". The alarm and relay one is the one that has the wiper relays in it. Not sure if yours is mounted differently but the keyless entry one in mine was mounted horizontally and the alarm/relay one was mounted vertically above it.
