I'd say skip the header. I have a Thorley tri-y header, and it's ok, but not worth the $ nor the hastle of install (5 of my exhaust manifold studs ended up stripping out of the head).
Check this out. http://www.4x4wire.com/forums/showf...p;amp;sb=5&o=all&fpart=1
Stay with the factory manifold and upgrade the tailpipe, cat, and muffler.
Then use the rest of the money you saved put it towards a new cam, differential locker, or sliders in a few more months.

I'm trying to fix my leaky header gasket & stripped bolt hole now and I agree - don't bother unless you have a cam, oversize valves and are looking for upper RPM power.

Salmon, think my truck has leak there too.
Do you get a ticking sound at idle, or sort of a diesel
sound when lauching from low rpm's?
( the rod bearings are fine, valves a bit out,
ticking sound under 1500 rpm )

Mine is a LOUD ticking sound and I can see where the gasket is blown out on lower front header flange. The last time I heard a loud ticking sound it was the number one plug that had unscrewed it self.
