I am not sure I can help you because I am still just in school but I worked for about 6 months on coop with SQL. I heard crystal reports is pretty annoying though, haven't done anything with it. If you indicate what it has to do with then I will know if I am even able to help.

I should have been more specific

1. Installation and Administration of a Microsoft SQL server, the day to day stuff.

2. Pull reports from said SQL server using Crystal Reports

I just need the quick down and dirty, I can RTFM but experience is KING. Besides tech support on 4x4 wire is free. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cyclops.gif" alt="" />

For some reason in IT they think if your a expert in one area your a expert in all area's <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" />

No experience with Cyrstal, but for a year or so I did SQL reports. Had 0 prior experience, and just had some manuals/books to use. I KNOW YOU will pick it up QUICKLY. Another guy I know swears that Crystal isnt' difficult, if you have a DB taht has all the tables labeled properly. smile

Roll Me Over
cant help with MS SQL...

but if you need MySQL, that's my dbms choice...

<img src="/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

i mean if you are starting from scratch and DONT want to pay MS for it, MySQL rules...

plus there are tons of tools for it that are free.

then i just write my own reports.

but if they really want fancy schmansy reports with nice pictures and crap, i ODBC to ACCESS and use it's report writer.

or if they want a web version i write it in PHP and jgraph it.
