Hi folks,
I put on 165 miles since my last top off about 3-4 days ago. I didn't notice that the needle hasn't dropped at all until today. I was thinking "kick ass mileage!"
In anycase, prior to starting it up, the needle rests at the bottom. When i start it, the needle immediately rises to the top.
Any guesses what the problem might be?

Let me know if you find out the cause. Mine got stuck at the top, too. And I've gone through a few tanks of gas with no change. I need to get it to the stealer. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="images/icons/frown.gif" />
I had the new gauge (TSB) done maybe 6 months ago. It goes to the bottom when it's off and all the way to the top when it's on. That's it.
A year ago I ran out of gas when it got stuck at 3/4 full. I only saw that once. But the TSB was done after that time.

Sorry to hear about your problems Bob, Maybe you can do what I do. Use this to justify to the wife that you should trade in or sell the 4RUnner and get another one w/4x4 and locker.
just a thought....

Hey Jeff and Dave,
I'm gonna call the dealer tomorrow. I'm gonna look at my old copy of the TSB to see if there is anything that might help me diagnose the problem.
And Dave, good meeting up w/ you on Sunday. Dim sum kicks ass! And as much as I would like to trade it in for a 4x4 or a Doublecab Taco, I can't pull the Jedi mind trick on the wife.

UPDATE:
Man, this problem is getting worse. I can't even put any gas in my tank! Well, just a little. What is happening is when I put gas into the tank, the gas hose trigger mechanism clicks and shuts off like the tank is full after about putting only 2/10th of a gallon in. I kept doing this until the gas actually spilled out (not the brightest idea). I managed to get in about 2.5 gallons. This was 2 days ago.
The same thing happened today. I am going to have a flat bed tow it to my purchasing dealer (a benefit of having AAA Plus membership!). We'll see what they say.
It eerily reminds me of my gas gauge problem I had *before* TSB EL010 but this one is much worse considering I can't hardly put any gas into it.
I'll let you know what happens.
