Getting the Wheeling Fever
|
In the morning my 4runner doesn't seem to shift right. It is like it hangs in 1st gear way too long before it will shift up. I have seen some posts on shift selonoids. I am thinking that maybe this is my problem? Anyone know where to start with this problem? Thanks Ron

It's not a problem. The ECU watches the temperature of the transmission fluid, which slightly changes some shift points while the transmission fluid is cold. It also affects when it can use overdrive. Yes, this is normal. Here's an old thread in this forum where multiple people say the same thing: http://www.4x4wire.com/forums/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=UBB13&Number=95611

When it is around 40 degrees or below, the truck will hit higher RPM's before it shifts out of 2nd gear into 3rd. It's normal.
