What color touch up paint? #858679 01/09/08 04:26 PM

Noticed some bubbles of EVIL STUPID SPITEFUL HORRID RUST under the paint on my rear wheel well yesterday . It's still small, like the size of quarter, and restricted to the part of the sheet metal that is rolled under/into the wheel well. Anyways, I have the very common green with gold trim color combo and I was wondering if anyone knows of a particular brand/color of touch up paint that will match well. I absolutely hate rust, in case you couldn't tell, so I want to kill this ASAP.

Thanks!

Take your fuel door off and bring it with you into an auto store to find something that matches. If you can't find a match close enough to your liking, bring your fuel door into a paint shop and have them make you a custom batch to match the paint on it.

Getting the Wheeling Fever
go here http://www.towerpaint.com/customcans.html
they custom fill spray-bomb type cans of car paint, they mixed up a can of paint for my Miata when I needed to touch that up and for what it was (and my meager skills) it looked pretty good. They weren't real expensive either.

EDIT I found a can of the gold-ish tan color for my 91 at the Autozone by my house, it matches very closely. When I get home I can look at the brand name if you want.

Thanks for the responses!

The fuel door idea is clever - I wouldn't have thought of that. But, I'm red/green color blind, so trying to match things by eye is a bad idea for me . It might look great to me and awful to anyone with normal vision!
I think I'll try going the Tower Paint route and see how close they can match me.
