anyone here cut a hold in the floor of your jeep to access the fuel pump? i was thinking about doing that then making an "access" panel to cover it. that way if it goes out again its that much easier...

i personally dont think its a good idea, they would have put one there if it they thought it was a good idea, plus it looks like a hack job, brothers friend did it on his camaro and it looks like sh!t, this is just my thinkings though...

They go bad so infrequently why cut up your ride for prolly the only time you will need to replace the pump? It really isn't much trouble to drop a tank anyway.. I have done it in the desert with the tools at hand.. Big Jim <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/pfft.gif" alt="" />

Michigan vehicle = rusty stuff. If you can do it and make a nice job of it go for it. Had a buddy went through 3 after market fuel pumps within 3 yrs. By the time he dropped the tank the 2nd time we added access in a camaro. Finally put a delco in it and didn't visit it again. You must be sure of what stuff is under the panel your about to cut. Sometimes it's not possible.
Engineer's design stuff to ware out they don't consider accessibility, If it out lasts the warranty they did there job. Good luck
