The kid who runs the local drive up coffee shop has them on his with no mods. He says they rub when turning sharp.

I run 265's and under hard turns they hit the mud flaps. Not by much though. 285's - no way w/o mods

I run 285/75's with about 2.5" of lift and I still get a slight rub at full lock.

It'll take lift and wheel offset/backspacing.

I'm running 255/85R16s(33x10x16) with a 2" body lift and Eagle Alloy 16x7 rims at 4.25" backspacing(+8mm offset). My tires rub slightly on my fender liners at full lock but nowhere else. I did remove my front mud guards. The default backspacing of my original 16x7 Toyota Alloys was 4.625"(+15mm offset). My Eagles with 4.25" backspacing have pushed my wheels outward another .375" or 3/8" and I went with tires about 1/2" narrower though 2" taller @ 32.7".

285s are almost an inch wider than the 265/70s I had stock. There also 32.7" to 33.1" tall versus 30.6" on the 265/70s. You might be able to crank the torsion bars and go with a lower backspaced wheel (~4") but it would likely rub somewhere. You'll also lose the plush ride if you crank those T.bars very much at all. Need a Spot
Would wheel adaptors be reasonable to use? I was looking at the same size tire, and a 2 inch body lift. To help the clearance on the turs, I was thinking a 1 inch wide adaptor, the kind that would bolt onto the existing studs, and have new to bolt the wheels onto.

Any opinions on the adaptors to make the tire size work?

I looked at adapters a long time ago and thought they might be okay. However I finally decided against it for my truck, as I didn't want to induce any additional pressure on the existing studs. I sold my OEM alloys to offset the new wheel expense. I've read that lots of people run them so hopefully one of our more knowledgeable members will reply. Sorry I'm not much help.
