I read in an older post on something else that a guy made his doors removable by buying a new set of door hinge pins, then grinding off the knurl on them to make them slip-fit instead of press-fit. Anyone else done this, and if so, how quickly can you remove the doors? Where can I find the part number for the hinge pins on an 85 Gen I SWB?
I'd like to remove the doors in Summer.

I myself replace the original hinge pin with a Pip pin. The pins with a spring loaded ball end for retention. If you can fit a true Pip, the ones with a button on the end that retracts the ball otherwise the simple spring loaded ones work fine. Generally a 5/16 pin will do the job. Some vehicles use different sizes so measure before buying.

I did it on my Raider. It was non-power windows and locks, so no wires to mess with. You can pull the doors or put them on in less than 5 min. I just cut the original pin and replaced with pins I found at Home Depot or Lowes. Be careful you dont drop a door, they are not too heavy, I bent the corner on one of mine.
I just want to tell you both good luck, and we're all counting on you.
