I went on a 6 day trip. I came back yesterday morning and had to get to work. I went to start my truck (it sat for 6 days in down to 23 below zero temp) and the idiot lights wouldn't even come on. So despite my better judgement I jumped it and let it run for a while. I drove to work and as I pulled into the lot the charge light came on. I started it after work and drove home with my fingers crossed and all loads off except my lights. By the time I got to my driveway my blinker went tink........tink......tink and my headlights looked like a dieing flashlights. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />

As you probably know, cold weather does some very strange things to normally operating machinery. Voltage loss occurs through a stoppage of charging. So the problem could be in the alternator, a relay/fuse/connection to make it charge the battery, or perhaps it's the battery's time to depart. Sorry I can't be more specific. No insult meant either if you already know these facts. Good luck. Spring is coming.

yep, frozen cell... it sucks.. I wonder if the new (gell) batteries do the same when they are run down.??? I KNOW I like the gell batteries for laying on the side and winching the truck back up...
