Need a Spot
Have a cpi 4.3L Chevy with JAZ 22gal fuel cell in my 88YJ
Need to find a external electric fuel pump that puts out about 65 psi
I had a external pump from auto zone that was pumping about 115 psi but burnt out after about a month. I was told there was to much back pressure on the system ......... any thoughts ?

Thanks, WhiteRhino

Most in line fuel pumps are rated at 45psi.. Although they will accomplish more pressure than the 45 they are bragging on the gallons per minute or hour at that pressure.. I think I would go with a name brand that says it will run a throttle body setup.
I'd be going to JEGS or similiar on the net and looking around in them sites.
I have used many inline fuel pumps..even on jeeps. But not on a throttle body.

not a throttle body ...... its a cpi (central port injection) needs a least 65psi the open the injectors

Since it's a cpi do you have a return line back to tank?
cause weather the pump produces 115psi or 65psi you should by-pass unused fuel, If you suspect back preassure check that return line & the reliefe spring, if it's clear you have a defective pump.
Sounds like Thier trying to get out of a warranty claim.
If you don't have a return line you need one.

Good luck.

have a return line & vent line also
I'm wondering if a pump putting out to much pressure can be a problem?

I wouldn't think so usually that regulater spring colapses as soon as the preassure builds up. You would need to some how measure the preasure at the return line to see if it's doing that. Are you sure that the reliefe spring is colapsing? Unless the return line is to small and restricting the fuel, you are doubleing the preasure.

We put a Multi port 302 in a ranger and hooked the fuel lines up backwards and it was running but funny acting and found preasure line was at the wrong side of the fuel rail.

Summit racing has an awsome tech support could call them and ask. At least they havn't done me wrong.
