Getting the Wheeling Fever
|
i have the aisn hubs on my amigo. when its jacked up, when i spin the wheel should the half shaft axle turn with the tire when the hubs are unlocked?

No.
You should be able to turn the cv shaft with the tires on the ground w/hubs unlocked.

i can turn the passenger side axle by hand but the drivers side won't turn. could it be a wheel bearing?

I doubt it. The axle goes thru the spindle and doesn't even touch the wheel bearings.
The hub sounds like it is locked it.
Take the hub off, take loose small bolts,pull cover,remove snap ring on axle shaft and then remove the 6 large allen head bolts that hold the hub body on. You should be able to turn cv easily
If not then it sounds like the roller bearing that supports the outer axle(stub axle) as it goes thru the spindle is rusted or seized up.
