Need a Spot
Hello members,

The battery keeps draining, but both the alternator and starter/solenoid tested and it is ok and I had replaced battery 4 times. I have Put a new splice replacement on the positive cable. Starts with the check engine light coming on and then the battery starts dropping. When the volts get too low, it just dies. It will start later, but run for only a short time.

Please let me know what should i do ? ?

Thanks !
Chris..
Any suggestions??

Should be rather obvious to anyone that batterys don't drain by themselves! You have a lectric item that is using the lectricity while you sleep!
Most times this occurs with a fancy radio or other comsumer-wired item! Once in a while it is the light bulb inside the glove box or other seemingly insignificant small drain.
Start off with disconncecting all add-on items that aren't OEM.. and see what happens.

What BJ said.
Now, if you think that the battery is getting drained while it sits, have someone with a multimeter disconnect the positive cable from the battery, then put the meter on the miliamps setting and put the leads between the positive terminal of the battery and the disconnected battery cable (while it's not running, key off). If you see an amperage reading, even a little bit, then something is draining current from your battery. Then, start removing fuses one at a time until the reading goes to zero. Now you've found the problem. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />
