Getting the Wheeling Fever
For those of you that have installed the electric fan in your Sportys I have a couple of questions. I read through the link at the top of the page but...

1. What temperature switches are you guys running? From what I have found there are many options, I am thinking about running the 200/185 but there is also a 210/195 and a 185/170. Any thoughts....

2. Is there a plug in the engine that I can take out to mount the switch? Where are you guys mounting yours?

3. Did you guys wire yours into the ignition so that the fan can only come on when the ignition is on, or do you just have it wired to a relay?

Thanks in advance!

1- I am using an adjustable temp switch from flex a lite. not sure where i have it set at though!
2- not sure on this one as my switch is mounted to the inside edge of the passenger fender, the temp probe goes into the rad fins just below the intake hose.

3- I have mine wired off of a relay that has a over ride switch in the cab that is off of ignition power for doing water crossings or for the crazy winters!

hope that helps.

Body Damage is Cool

1. The switch is rated 82-87 celsius but the system operates a little bit highier...

2. You have seen the cooper adaptor on the lower hose of the radiator

3. no, its connented ditectly to the batery so it can opperate with the ignition switch off..

Mine reads a signal off the temp gauge sensor. It is fed by a relay that is by ignition on only. In the future, I am changing my control module to a SPAL unit that is adjustable. Tell us how you set your fan up and take some pictures.
Good Luck.
