when it is very cold out the idle will take 10 to 15 minutes or the jeep will stall when at idle. any ideas why this is happening?

What engine and tranny do you have?

How cold are you talking about?

If you are talking about extreme cold, you may want to invest in some type of engine blanket or block warmer.

I just got my 88 running and am not happy with the carb setup either. after reading about all the negitive stuff on the internet and looking at my spaghetti bowl of vac hoses I am considering a carb swap. I found posts regarding either a motorcraft 2100 or a weber 34/34. I am working on contacting people about questions to get some more knowledge. I think I am leaning more towards the motorcraft with a 4.0 head install and an HEI dist. I think I would solve a lot of problems with that combo.
