Anyone here ever install Honda seats into a 4runner? I measured the seats in both of my hondas. IIRC, they are about 3/4" narrower than the toyota bracket holes and over 1" deeper. Taking a quick look, it appears one can't just drill new holes for the honda seats, as there might be a body mount in the way on the driver's side. I was just wondering if the only solution is to weld on brackets to make them fit?

I'll be swapping the recaros in my 4runner into the honda CRV, which will become my new DD. The 4runner will go up for sale in the coming months...got 4 cars.

I didn't weld, I bolted new bracket adapters to my seats.

Not Honduh, either... MR2 seats. Comfy.

I installed a set of '00 Accord seats in an '85 X-cab. They were a lot taller than the originalk seats, but they still worked. I used the fromnt outer mount of the truck and drilled a new bolt hole for the inner one, then welded some tabs onto the rear seats and bolted them to the floor. I think the CRV seats(horrible seat) is lower so you shouldn't have the height problem. You should see if the seat tracks will swap over, most are only held on w/a rivet.

More than tread lightly. Leave it like you were never there, nor anyone else.

Okay. I currently have recaro touring seats in there that will go into my hand-me-down 2000 CRV, then the CRV seats will go into the 4runner before I sell it. I'm wondering if the recaro rails will fit the CRV seats, which will allow me to use the current recaro base/bracket w/ a CRV seat (or can I make the rails fit by, say, drilling new holes?).

BTW, if anyone here is interested, my rig (ex-project car) will be up for sale this spring. It has lots of mod's...ARB winchbar, Kaymar rear bar w/ tire carrier, truetrac (V6 4 pinion) w/ 4.56 gears, OEM locker in the rear, OME 2" spring lift, heavy duty t-bars, LCE header/cat/catback, TRD level 1 cam, 15" alloys, powerslot rotors w/ kevlar/carbon pads, Earl's SS brake hoses, 207K mi w/ all synthetic fluids.

It's probably a little late to chime in, but, I put mid 90's integra seats in my 90 singlecab. Beats the heck out of that short person friendly bench. They bolted almost straight up. One bend and grinding the rear mount holes to line them up with the bolt holes in cab. Pretty painless.
