[disclaimer]The SAS is quite a ways in the future; so don't get your hopes up for a build thread anytime soon[/dc]

This kind of mount that attaches to the rear of the t-case and suspends both the t-case and the tranny is common in the Toyota crowd:

Seems like a long span of unsupported drivetrain like that would put a lot of stress on the bellhousing; but I guess its working well enough that a kit is readily available. Any thoughts/opinions on how an MUA tranny/t-case combo would hold up to a similar mount? On-road I'm not so worried about... its the bouncing around and dropping off of ledges while off-road that concerns me.

Planning a 3-link SAS and the OEM tranny crossmember won't allow for long enough links. Even making a mount that attaches to the top of the frame, then goes over and drops down to the tranny would likely keep the upper link from being up high enough to allow sufficient separation between it and the lower link's attachment point. Of course, the lower links could always be moved down to correct that to a point; but the lower they are the more they'll act as rock anchors. The goal is to have a good performing 3-link that is still tucked up and out of the way.

I'll certainly take a durability report once you've put some trail time on the set-up. I can make one pretty easily if it'll work... didn't buy that plasma cutter for nothing.

It would be fairly sweet for the front linked/radius arm guys to post up their drivetrain mounts and link mounts.
not that they are all running that set-up but pics would indeed be fairly sweet.

when looking for a container to hold drained brake fluid, find a container that is different from the beverage you are currently consuming.

Need a Spot
knowing my driving style and horsepower (or lack therof), I wouldn't be concerned. But what about a "backbone" or "breastplate" running down the center from tabs off the bellhousing to the rear TC plate, with "riblets" running up and supporting points in between? might cut down on your GC though.

I drew a picture of what I'mtalking about on my screen but your computer ain't pickin it up so user imagination
