Getting the Wheeling Fever
I think that some you should give the guy a break. This is where I bought my Paj and before hand I spoke to him on numerous occasions over the course of a year test driving several of his vehicles before I picked up mine last August. In that time I found him to be very straight forward, he never tried to sell me at all and gave me a list of pros and cons on every individual vehicle we talked about. He was forthcoming about some of the common issues with each of the models and gave me a good picture of what I could expect through ownership of an import. He has continued to be reliable, and straight forward in his post sales support and seems eager to talk about my experiences when I call which I very much appreciate. Some of the other used dealers I was considering dealing with out there don't even come close to his standard; choosing instead to scrape the bottom with the sleaze bag buyer beware stereotype, and I feel Max Overdrive should be considered a resource rather than a source of suspicion. Sure, his inventory is not full of the most pristine examples out there, but nor are the prices pristine. The price I paid for my vehicle was more than fair when considering my alternatives, preferable even to importing myself. Before I bought the Paj - I did my due dilligence ( Even though they offer warranties) and I took it to ATEB in Burnaby to have a full inspection done. The verdict was that it was a 16 year old vehicle with some faults such as suspension wear but overall it was in good condition and when told the price I was to pay agreed that it was quite fair. Look at this guy's situation with a bit of reality - He is a small business owner providing a product that we all demand in an industry that is not known for its trust worthiness. He sells his products at a competitive price and competes the best he can and that means that sometimes not every customer or potential customer is going to walk away happy, and i think that is a product of the business he is in and where he has placed himself in the market. Overall I would definitely deal with him again, and reccomend that others do as well. Possibly not for everything but I think he comes in ahead of much of the competition.

Good for you, buddy!

I never ever go to them anymore and STILL recommend to EVERYBODY stay away from them.

BTW, ATEB is a similar bad bad bad place...

PM me for details if needed.

User mdrive did not exactly start posting over here and making friends either. F-bombs etc. If you believe you conduct business with decent customer service, no swearing or flaming is necessary to defend or explain one's practices or policy.

The moderators here did take note. Not cool.

You are also new here. Please note the decorum of this website.

We have all collectively had good and bad experiences with various places over the years; you are entitled to your opinion of that business, just as is the gent who responded.

I agree completely. I did not think that Max O were very honest (but that is my opinion). I am glad to hear that you got a good vehicle from them but I chose to buy else wear. I do think that it is important to let all know of our good and bad experiences so we are well informed when we go to buy.

Please explain your situation why you think maximum overdrive is not honest before you shoot your invalid comment.

We'll give the guy a break now that he comes in here and has a better attitude, and wants to have civil discussion without dropping F bombs, and acting shouting like a child.

Mdrive... please cool it.

When I went to M O D I found him to be nice and his units looked not bad, I just didn't like the fact that he told me the unit was a non smoking vehicle when it smelled like smoke and there was a pack of cigarets in the center consul. It was the first time I drove a right hand vehicle and the owner of M O D had no problem with me test driving it (he didn't even try to "press" the sale afterwards). As with any older vehicle I would get it inspected and make up your own opinion.

I had told people this before and I should have restated it so that the newer members didn't think that I was taking about a "huge lie".

Sorry, so that I am not misunderstood; my post was not about condoning his behaviour on this forum as I personally don't think it is ever necessary to swear at or berate someone. It was about responding to allegations from would be customers ( not actual customers) that may have a negative effect on the guy's business. I was simply trying to balance out the argument and offer an other perspective from an actual customer who is indeed satisfied. Everyone I know that has bought anything from this company has been all together satisfied with the level of service offered and the product itself. In my opinion he was being unfairly critisized through hearsay rather than actual experience and has a right to be upset. Again, for the record, I do not condone the way he went about dealing with it on this forum. Thanks

Thanks for the balanced viewpoint. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" /> Hopefully his (assuming "he" represents the company as a whole?) manners are now in check, and we'll be able to hear from him in a less confrontational tone from here forward...

Phil
