How high have you pushed your diesels? Also, do any of you know if there are any stronger head bolts available for this engine (4D55/56)?
I have a big ford/international powered diesel truck and ARP has an off the shelf kit for that engine, but I can't find anything for the mitsubishi duesels.

Thanks for the info.....but diesels don't run a fixed mixture ratio, so what is the harm in running lean??

Not really any harm, but you won't make any more power with all that extra air if you don't add fuel. Good read on diesels: http://www.diesel-central.com/News/cackle.htm

Aahh, OK. I thought you meant it could harm the engine from running lean, which I know not to be the case with diesels. I've been driving/modding diesels for most of my driving life now. Theres something about that rattle <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />.
So I guess there are no options for stronger head bolts then?

Tried Emailing, but got no reply. Their list of engine head bolt/stud kits mentions nothing about the 4D55/56 diesel engines. My feeling is that there is a stud that they make that would fit, but finding it would involve cross referencing the application based on the type of stem instead of part number. Its very rare that anyone with access to the part numbers is willing to do that leg work for you. So for now, I'll probably have to reuse the old bolts.
