My 93 4.0 Has a real hard time starting in cold weather. Is there a cold start sensor I can check?

Getting the Wheeling Fever
Welcome to the forum. Your question has to many variables. Cold weather out here in Cen Cal this time of year is mid 40s. Is the problem when the vehicle is cold as in ovrernight but starts ok when it is warm? Does it crank OK but seem like it's not getting fuel? If you hold the throttle slightly open, does it start OK?

i live in upstate New york. It starts if I pump the gas pedal while cranking. Temps here have been in the single digits.if the temps are above freezing it starts much better. It starts fine when warm. Thanks for the warm welcome and the reply.

Body Damage is Cool
Sounds like you might want to get an engine block heater or something of the sort.

Gun it and run it!

Pete Pumping the pedal on a fuelie only serves to confuse the computer... Instead try cracking the pedal 1/4" or LESS and see if it starts quicker.. A SMALL amount might help but pumping does nothing good for starting.
Also try turning the key to the run position to build up fuel pressure before hitting the start position.
