I did a search and didn't see anything on this subject.

I got an opportunity to buy a brand new Mikuni carb really cheap and I jumped on it not knowing if it would work on my truck. From doing a little research it looks to me like it might be for an '85-86? It's definitely different from the one on my '87.

Any idea if they can swapped without a huge amount of work? Are there any parts that I could swap out? I'm guessing it isn't worth the hassle, but I thought I would ask.

I don't know too much about the Mikunis...but I know they 85-86 and the 87-89's looks completely different. I think there is alot of electronics that are different on them.

Late in the 86 model year, the non-feedback carb was changed to the feedback carb. The intake manifolds may be different, the exhaust manifolds and secondary-air injection plumbing is way different. Intermixing the two may 'work' but if you have any emission tests to pass, your tech will fail your truck.

I took the air cleaner off my truck to get a better look and it appears that almost nothing is exactly the same so no parts swapping for me.

From looking at the FCProducts.com site it matches the carb for a 1986 Dodge D50. I might call them up and see if they will give me a deal on an exchange.
