Look and see if you have a hole in the center of the roof... I think you have found an analog phone cable.

I think the big guy got it right.

It looks like the plug from an old Motorola cell phone. The handset was mounted on the dash, but the actual radio was mounted under the seat, about 10x5x1 in size. My dad had one similar in his '95 ZJ. It was torn out a few years ago, so I can't say 100%. What's on the end of the thick cable... is it coax?

Awesome, thanks for the help. Sounds like I can rip it out. Guess I better follow it up to the dash and make sure it isnt anything important first.

I still have TWO of them... AT&T is turning off all analog phones this month.. If my back wasn't giveing me such a fit today I'd go out and take a photo of one of mine.
The damn things are hooked up to blow my pickup horn when they ring! I have picked up a call from a tower KNOWN to be 40 miles away with them.

Need a Spot
I found the same plug in my wifes 99 Cherokee.. I never found out what it was except this.... the last owner before her was the railroad co. I thought it had to be something they wired in special or had it done for them ... Whatever they used it for i'll never know ... maybe a dealership tech could tell you ... It mentions nothing about it in the service manual...

Think they'll have That on the Tour

It looks like the plug to a Martin-Baker Mark IV ejection seat!
Nope! That's the connector for a remote surveillance transmitter used by the CIA to satellite track suspected terrorists, drug dealers, gun runners, etc..

the CIA? i thought they were disbanded after 911. what this guy needs to do is find the rest of the unit that goes with that plug & then he can contact the mother ship & we can all go back home then! lol
