Need a Spot
hi guys,
i recently purchased an '87 raider 2.6 w/AT it had the head replaced then sat for a year before i bought the truck. the valves seem to be tapping a little. i was wondering if anyone had the specs on adjusting the valves and will factory settings be the same for the aftermarket head, i believe its a clearwater. i would like to adjust them while i have it apart.
any links or clues would be a great help.

Jack

First, it may not have adjustable valves. Take the vavle cover off, and see if there are adjusting screws on the rocker arms. If not, you need to bleed the lifters, then replace any that won't stay bled of air bubbles. If it has adjusters, the specs are .010" on exhaust, and .006 on the intakes.
